New Apartment Guidelines Cost Assessment InfoCard

Mitchell McDermott welcome the New Apartment Design Guidelines which were issued by the Government on 8 July, 2025.

The following InfoCard examines the potential savings that could be made on existing schemes. The savings will vary a lot from scheme to scheme, depending on the mix. These guidelines provide cost clarity, planning certainty and commercial viability for developers.

While the design changes introduce welcome flexibility to apartment design, there is still a need for financial subvention to achieve viability.
