Modeling (BIM) Adoption

As of 2019, a survey conducted by the Construction IT Alliance and NBS revealed that 76% of respondents in Ireland had adopted Building Information Modeling (BIM), a figure comparable to adoption levels in the UK. To further incentivise BIM adoption, the Irish government has implemented a phased strategy for public sector projects.

Regardless of the type of project, Mitchell McDermott scope out the client’s BIM requirements at the start of the project, and ensure that the BIM Employer’s Information Requirements (EIRs) and Execution Plan are prepared by the appointed BIM Manager, and that all consultants are signed up to the level of detail set out within.

This ensures expert BIM co-ordination, model validation and implementation of end user requirements by the appointed specialists. We encourage and ensure collaboration between all parties at each key stage from concept to handover.

Key planning routes we specialise in include the LRD (Large-Scale Residential Developments) process, which replaced the former SHD (Strategic Housing Development) route. We also have experience in the standard Local Authority Planning process, as well as navigating other fast-track routes for eligible developments.
